#1 I hate dressing up and "going out".......so do my dogs
#2 I don't have to worry about how much I eat in front of them.....
#3 Their idea of the perfect night is the same as mine: me in my sweat-pants, on the couch with them and a bowl of queso
So for those reasons I decided they needed a Valentine's gift. Back when Treat Dreams was a dog bakery, this recipe was one of our top sellers because it smells DIVINE! Like Reese's peanut butter cups.
Here is the recipe, and to make it more fun, I bought a heart shaped box of candy, dumped out the candy and filled the containers with these "chocolate" treats instead! So fun!
Preheat oven to 325
1&3/4 Cup Flour
1/3 Cup Carob
1 TSP Cinnamon
3/4 Cup Water
1/3 Cup Honey
1/3 Cup Peanut Butter (make sure it does not contain Xylitol)
Mix all ingredients together. Add more water if your dough is too dry. You want it to be about the consistency of a sugar cookie dough so you can punch shapes out of it. I usually sprinkle some flour on the counter and then roll the dough out onto that. Then I punch out the shapes and place onto the cooking pan.
Bake for 6 minutes, take out of the oven, flip them, and bake for 6 more minutes.
Allow them to cool and then refrigerate them.
Or place them in a chocolate heart box and give them to your four legged Valentine ❤️
1 thing I really like about hamster toys is the simple fact they allow your little buddy to work out in a little space. To learn more about antler dog chews, visit on hyperlinked site.
